'Female robber' arrested in Faridpur

Two fraudsters ,including a woman, have been arrested in Faridpur, after they were found robbing people posing as detectives.

Police say, they were arrested around 11.30 pm on Wednesday following a shootout at Vanga Upazila in which one of the robbers got hit.

The two arrested were identified as Riazul Islam and Sirajum Munira Nabila.
Vanga Police Station OC Md Nazmul Islam said that four robbers in a car were following the car of one Shafiqul Islam, an expatriate from Saudi Arabia.
The robbers stopped Islam's car posing as police detectives and snatched Saudi currencies worth Tk 540,000 from him, he said.
When informed, police chased the car and asked it to stop at Maligram area, OC Islam said.
"The robbers fired at police. One of them was hit when the police fired back. Two of the robbers managed to flee but we caught the others."
