Metropolitan Magistrate MA Salam issued the order on Monday.

The warrant comes in a case filed by ‘The Daily Destiny’ Deputy Editor Nur-e Alam Noman Salman on Oct 10 last year.

The court has ordered Amin’s arrest for having ignored an earlier directive asking him to appear before the judge, Salman said.

Amin, one of the 102 journalists and employees of ‘The Daily Destiny’, was given a ‘golden handshake’ by his employers.
Those who had been asked to opt for voluntary retirement were given three cheques in settlement of their dues.
Salman received a cheque for Tk 6.5 million drawn on the HSBC Bank, but it bounced when presented.
He sent a legal notice to Amin on Sept 5 last year.
But Amin refused to pay up, forcing Salman to take legal recourse.
Md Ashraful Amin is the brother of Destiny Group’s Managing Director Rafiqul Amin, currently in jail in a money laundering case.
