"Hate Pillar" in Upazilas for the anti-liberation elements

The liberation war affairs minister has said a "hate pillar" will be erected in every Upazila to show hatred to the elements who opposed the nation’s war of independence from Pakistan.

AKM Mozammel Haque said Muktijoddha Complex will be constructed in every Upazila to create jobs and raise funds for the freedom fighters.

“The Bengalis will show hatred to the Razakars by throwing shoes on the hate pillars,” he said on Friday.

The minister went to inspect the progress of the construction of Muktijoddha Complex at Damurhuda Upazila in Chuadanga district.

The Local Government Engineering Department is building the three-storey complex at a cost of Tk 19.5 million. The work is expected to be completed by October this year.
Earlier, the minister at a function handed over the key of a new house, built under the housing project for the landless and insolvent freedom fighters, to freedom fighter Kalu Sheikh.
Haque said the government had undertaken a housing project for insolvent and landless freedom fighters. Under the project, houses were being built for five freedom fighters in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila.
Parliament Whip Solaiman Haq Joarder, Chuadanga district Deputy Commissioner Delwar Hossain and project officials accompanied the minister among others.
