Shot for protesting extortion

Miscreants shot a mason in the city’s Rampura area on Wednesday morning for protesting against extortion.

Abdus Salim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition after he was shot.

His brother Abdul Karim told reporters at DMCH that miscreants went to a shop at Ulan Road in Rampura area around 10:30am to realise their money they had asked for.

“As Salim tried to stop them, they shot him at his right leg.”

Officer-in-Charge of the Rampura Police Station Alamgir Hossain told bdnews24.com that a police team rushed to the spot and was trying to nab the criminals.
