School teacher killed in Ctg road crash

A school teacher was killed in a road accident at Hathazari Upazila in Chittagong on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sajeda Begum, 32, an assistant teacher of Barighona Government Primary School of the Upazila.

Headmistress of the school Anjuman Ara Begum, who was a witness to the incident, told bdnews24.com that a BRTC bus rammed into an auto-rickshaw in which Sajeda was travelling, leaving her seriously injured.

The incident occurred near Bharapukur area of Najumiahat around 9am when Sajeda was on her way to the school.

She was rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where the doctors declared her brought dead, Nayek of CMCH Police Outpost Abul Bashar said.

Sub-Inspector of Madunaghat Police Outpost Shariful Islam Khan told bdnews24.com that the locals stopped the bus at Madunaghat area while it was trying to speed away after hitting the auto-rickshaw.

Later, they handed over the bus driver Mohammad Selim, 26, and his assistant to the police.
