A special ACC team led by its Deputy Director Abdus Sobhan arrested Mashiul Alam from his residence in the city’s Tejgaon area on Wednesday morning, ACC’s Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told bdnews24.com.

“He (Alam) had embezzled Tk 16,800,999 in several phases producing fake vouchers against 82 demand drafts,” Bhattacharya said.

The anti-graft agency filed a case against him with the Wari Police Station in this connection on June 23 last year.

ACC official Abdus Sobhan told bdnews24.com that they sought Alam’s five-day remand for interrogation after producing him before a lower court at noon.
