They had fled across the border to Bangladesh amid heavy fighting between the Myanmar military and rebel insurgents in Rakhine
Ramna Police Station Sub-Inspector Azam Ali said the accident took place on Friday afternoon in front of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh in Ramna.
He said a bus of ‘Shikar Paribahan’ was going to Shanir Akhra from Mirpur when a private car suddenly took a U-turn and came in front of it. The bus driver in a bid to avoid a collision lost control of the vehicle.
The bus overturned and fell on the private car.
Both the vehicles have been badly damaged.
Of the injured, bus passenger Nazma Akter and the private car’s driver Joynal Abedin Faruk had been admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, the police officer said.
Police, however, could not name the bus driver, who has been detained after the accident.
