The 78-year-old died of old age complications on Friday at his Sirajganj home, according to relatives.

Sirajganj’s Deputy Commissioner Billal Hossain told bdnews24.com that Khan took part in the 1952 language movement while he was school-goer.
Khan is survived by his wife, four daughters and three sons.
“My father was a student of Sirajganj's Victoria High School in 1952. On Feb 21, he along with his two classmates, Anwar Hossain Ratu and Abdul Hannan Talukder, were arrested for taking part in a procession,” his son, Kawser Khan told bdnews24.com.
That is how Akbar Ali Khan became part of the language movement that started the long road to ultimate independence.
