The Munajat will be held from 10:30am to 11:30 am on Sunday instead of Sunday noon, said Md Giauddin, a member of the organizing committee.

“The Munajat is usually held from 12 noon to 1am every year,” he told bdnews24.com.

“But we have this time decided to start it within10:30am so that devotees don’t have to face any trouble,” he told bdnews24.com.

The second phase of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim congregation after Hajj, began on Friday with sermons from Indian cleric Mualana Jamshed.

The first phase had begun on Jan 24 and ended on Jan 26 with Akheri Munajat.

Ijtema is held in two phases because the ground at Tongi is not sufficient to accommodate all the devotees.
