PM hosts tea party

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has passed a different afternoon with renowned persons from various fields joining her for tea.

The reception was held at the south lawn of the Ganabhaban from 2:30pm till evening on Friday where she listened to music and spoke with the guests.

Hasina, who took over as the Prime Minister for the third time six days back, exchanged pleasantries with artistes, teachers, poets, litterateurs, journalists and other eminent persons at the reception.

She entertained the guests with cake, kebab, paratha, sweets, tea and coffee.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) AAMS Arefin Siddique, Jahangirnagar University former VC Anwar Hossain and Jagannath University VC Mizanur Rahman, Prime Minister’s sister Sheikh Rehana, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, writer Syed Shamsul Haq, artiste Subir Nandi, poet Kazi Rosy, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation Managing Director Pijush Bandapadhay, BTV Director General M Hamid, drama personality Aly Zaker, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu and Vice-President Golam Kuddus were present.

Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar, Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar and Director (News) Shykh Siraj, Boishakhi TV Chief Executive Officer Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon and Bangladesh Protidin Editor Naem Nizam joined the party from the media.

Among her Cabinet colleagues, there were Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor.

After the party, the Prime Minister enjoyed cultural function with the guests.
