Two centres each from Sirajganj and Feni and one centre each from Sylhet, Bogra and Cox's Bazaar failed to register a single vote.

Voter turnout across the country including Dhaka was rather low in the 10th National Election amid Opposition violence that led to 21 deaths and suspension of polling in 540 centres.

Sylhet

Not a single vote was casted at the Ramdhana Govt Primary School of Sylhet's Biswanath Upazila.

This happens to be the home constituency of BNP's Oragansing Secretary llias Ali, who has been 'missing' for almost two years now.

Presiding officer of the centre Md Bajlur Rahman told bdnews24.com that a total of 1,190 voters are listed for the polling station under the Sylhet-2 constituency.

Sylhet district unit BNP's Organising Secretary Ali Ahmed said: "No one from the village (where Ilias hails from) went to vote protesting Ilias Ali's kidnapping."

The central leader of BNP and his car's driver went missing from Dhaka's Mohakhali area on the night of Apr 18, 2012.

The BNP says that the government got him 'abducted' but the government denies the charge.

Strangely, the ruling Awami League did not give any candidate from the seat though the sitting MP belongs to them.

Ershad-led Jatiya party's candidate Md Yahiya Chowdhury has been unofficially declared winner from the seat.

Independent candidate Muhibur Rahman was his closest opponent.

Sirajganj

No one came to vote in the polling centres at Kalyanpur Rawshania Madrasa and Kalyanpur Primary School of Belkuchu Upazila's Dhukuriabera union.

This is an area, which have witnessed massive violence following Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee's death sentence in the war crimes trials.

Kalyanpur Rawshania Madrasa centre's Presiding Officer Farid Ahmed said that none of the 3,518 voters came to vote.

Kalyanpur Primary School centre's Presiding Officer Abul Kalam Azad said a total of 2,338 voters are listed under the centre.

Four candidates contested in the Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi-Chowhali) constituency. They are AL's Abdul Majid Mandal, the ruling party's rebel candidate Ataur Rahman Ratan, Abu Bakkar Sidfdique of JP (Ershad) and Abu Hasnat JP (Monju).

Feni

Two polling stations went without a single voter on Sunday in the district's Songazi Upazila, said Feni's Returning Officer Humayun Kabir Khandaker.

They are - East Maheshchar Government Primary School and Sawdagarhat Mahmudia Madrasa under Charkandia Union of the Upazila.

The centre at the primary school had 1,632 voters while the madrasa, reserved for female voters had 2, 380.

The ruling Awami League has not given any candidate in the constituency (Feni-3). Anwarul Kabir of JP (Ershad) and an independent candidate contested the seat.

Bogra

A polling station at Shahjahanpur Upazila saw no voters on Sunday while 3 votes were casted at the centre beside it.

None of the 2,159 voters of the Malipara Dhakil Madrasa at Madla Union turned up, said the Presiding Officer Anisur Rahman.

Meanwhile, only 3 exercised their franchise at the adjacent polling station in Ramchandrapur Boys' Primary School, said the Presiding Officer Shahjahan Ali.

The two candidates in the constituency (Bogra-7) are Altaf Hossain of JP (Ershad) and Aminul Islam Pintu of JP (Monju).

Cox's Bazaar

The Harinmara Primary School at Ukhiya Upazila of Cox's Bazaar-4 constituency went voter-lesson Sunday.

Presiding Officer Md Ashraf Ali said that none of the 1,595 voters came to cast their votes.
