Wednesday was the first day of the BNP-led 18-Party alliance’s nonstop blockade of roads, railways and waterways across Bangladesh to foil the Jan 5 general elections.

The incident took place at around 10:30pm on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Kaliakoir Upazila.

Kaliakoir police OC Omar Faruk said the truck was on its way to Konabarhi. A band of Opposition activists hurled Molotov cocktail at the truck when it reached Sakhipur.
