His relatives claim he was killed by law enforcers.

Faiz Ahmed, 58, a senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Lakshmipur unit, died at midnight on Friday.

Ahmed’s relatives claimed some people entered the house of the Jammat leader saying they were from 'RAB'. After that they shot him and then he was thrown off the roof of his house.

The body was kept at Lakshmipur General Hospital.

Police, however, could not say how Ahmed had died.

Relatives of the Jamaat leader told reporters that ‘members of the RAB’ entered the house of Ahmed at Uttar Bazar in the district town at 12:15am.

They took him up to the roof and shot him in the head and legs and then threw him off the roof, they said.

‘The RAB members’ themselves took the body to the hospital, they added.

On-duty Physician Joynal Abedin told reporters that the body was brought to the hospital at around 1:40am. There were sign of injuries in the head and the right thigh.

Lakshmipur Police Station’s Inspector (Investigation) Lokman Hossain told bdnews24.com that the body had been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. The cause of the death could be known after investigation.

BNP-led 18-Party alliance called a dawn-to-dusk strike for Saturday, protesting killing of their leaders and activists on Thursday.

Not many vehicles were not seen plying on the road though there were no processions and rallies by the alliance in the district. Shops were also closed.

At least four BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists were killed and more than 50 others injured in a clash with RAB and Police on Thursday.
