There was, however, no casualty.

The mishap occurred at around 2:15pm, Tangail Station Master Jalal Uddin told bdnews24.com.

A bogie of Rangpur Express, which was on its way to Rangpur from Dhaka, went off the track just before reaching the West Station of Bangabandhu Bridge, he said.

“Rail communications to Dhaka from Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions have been snapped after the accident. None was injured even though the bogie was derailed,” he said.
No rescue train reached the accident site until around 5:30pm
