Hasina, Khaleda greet bdnews24.com

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia have greeted the country's first internet-only newspaper bdnews24.com on the occasion of its seventh anniversary.

The Prime Minister hoped the online newspaper would continue its 'objective and unbiased news'.

In a message, the prime minister said , "I am greeting bdnews24.com on its anniversary. I hope that they will continue their objective and unbiased news."

"We need media outlets like bdnews24.com to spread the ideals of democracy and free society by providing a platform for diverse opinions and multiple voices. That strengthens our democracy."

"I firmly believe this will carry forward the democratic process," she said.

In a message, the Leader of the Opposition, Khaleda, said, "I hope this internet newspaper will carry forward its tradition of objective news coverage built up during the last seven years ."
'BDNEWS' was launched as a news agency in 2005 and re-launched a year later on Oct 23 as bdnews24.com, the country's first internet-only newspaper in Bengali and English.
