The victim’s paternal uncle filed the case against Abdur Rashid an assistant teacher at Baliadangi Lahiri Dwi-Mukhi High School on Friday night.

The teacher is on the run and therefore could not be arrested said OC Asaduzzaman of Baliadangi Police Station.

Meanwhile, students of the upazila’s various educational schools formed a human chain at Baliadangi intersection on Saturday to press for the teacher’s arrest.

Abdur Rashid used to teach at a coaching center in the area near Baliadangi Lahiri Dwi-Mukhi High School. The centre enrolled students of several schools of the area.
The case filed said Rashid on last Wednesday asked the victim to be present at the coaching center by 6am while the others were due to arrive by 7am. He began to molest the student when she arrived there.
He forcibly clicked some obscene photos of her in his phone and forced himself on her after threatening to release the photos of her on the internet.
The other students who arrived in the coaching center shortly afterwards learned of the incident after they found the girl in tears.
The students who hold demonstration on Saturday have threatened to stage strikes in their schools and colleges among other tough measures if the teacher is not arrested within the next two days.
Hundreds of concerned parents and other citizens also joined the demonstration.
A 10th grade student of Dhaka’s renowned educational institution Viqarunnisa Noon School and College was raped several times by a teacher of the school Parimal Joydhar at a coaching center in 2011.
