More donations to PM's Relief Fund for Savar victims

More organisations and individuals have donated to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund for Savar victims.

More organisations and individuals have donated to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund for the Savar victims.

The Prime Minister received the cheques at a function at her Tejgaon office on Tuesday.

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury and Post and Telecommunications Minister Shahara Khatun donated one-day salaries of the officials of their ministries.

In addition, 26 organisations and individuals made contributions to the fund.

They include Bangladesh Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, Bangladesh Police Welfare Trust, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Palli Karma Sangsthan Foundation (PKSF), Bangabandhu Parisad, BADC Diploma Engineers Association, IBAIS University, Institution of Diploma Association, Walton Hi-tech Industries Ltd., BIAM Foundation School and College, Privatisation Commission, RDRS Bangladesh, Dhaka University Art Center and Rangpur district Awami League, Dhaka School of Economics, Bangladesh Power Development Board Diploma Engineers Association, Goldman Software and TSC of Dhaka University.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Food Minister Abdur Razzak, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman, FBCCI President Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed and the chairmen of different commercial banks were present, among others.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told reporters that Hasina would continue accepting donations for the Savar victims and the next date of doing so would be announced later.
