Station Master, 3 suspended

Four railway officials including the Station Master of Chittagong Railway Station were put under temporary suspension for negligence of duties after miscreants torched five bogies of Subarna Express on Tuesday early in the morning.

Bangladesh Railway East zone General Manager Tofazzal Hossain told bdnews24.com that Station Master Mahbubur Rahman, Government Railway Police’s Habildar Monjur Alam, security guards Jasim Uddin and Rayhan Ali were temporarily suspended for dereliction of duties.
The guards were deployed to ensure security of the Dhaka-Chittagong inter-city train.
The train was scheduled to leave for Dhaka at 7am. It later departed Chittagong one-and-half-hour after the incident as the charred bogies were replaced with two new carriages.
