Obstructing police from discharging duties, acts of vandalism and setting fire on vehicles were some of the charges mentioned in the case lodged by Sub-Inspector of Hathazari Police Station Jahangir Ali.
Hathazari police OC KM Liaquat Ali said the complainant accused 20 identified and up to 5,000 unidentified persons for the violence that rocked the area on Monday afternoon killing five people, including an army personnel, and injuring at least 25 others.
The clashes were sparked by rumours about the arrest of Hifazat chief Ahmad Shafi.
Family members of the slain army personnel Saidur Rahman were preparing to file another case, the OC said.
