Kendua Jamaat leader nabbed

Police nabbed Shamsuddin Ahmed, Kendua upazila Jamaat-e-Islami leader from his Sadar Rowshon Ara road residence in Netrakona early on Saturday.

He was nabbed around 5:30am over alleged attempts to foment trouble, Purbadhala Police Station Officer in-Charge Mosharraf Hossain told bdnews24.com.

Shamsuddin Ahmmed, who hails from Garadoba village in Kendua, was in the hiding, the OC said.

There were two attacks on police allegedly instigated by him. Cases related to violence are pending against the Jamaat leader at Kendua Police Station.

He was behind the conspiracy to create trouble on Thursday and Friday, claimed the OC. Preparations were on to file a case against him over it.
