Shahbagh goes to Motijheel

A rally by the 'Ganajagaran Mancha" started from Motijheel amidst slogans of death to 'war criminals' reverberating through the capital's commercial hub on Wednesday.

This is the third place outside Shahbagh, where the protest against the life sentence of Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Molla, has been organised in Dhaka.

The two other protest rallies were held at Mirpur and Rayerbazar, both witness to a spate of mass murders during the 1971 Liberation War.

“No procession from Shahbagh was supposed to come here. But those who willing to join the Motijheel protests will come straight to the Shapla Chattar,” 'Prajanma Chattar' spokesman Sagar said.

Demonstration at Shahbagh intersection continued for the 23rd day on Wednesday.

A signature campaign is being held at media cell in front of national museum. The signature campaign in going on elsewhere in the country as part of the central programme.

Hundreds of locals are seen joining the Motijheel protest as it began.

The programme came to spread the Shahbagh protest in every areas of the city and across the country.
