PM visits Rajib’s house in Mirpur

Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina Saturday afternoon visited the Mirpur residence of Ahmed Rajib Haider, the architect and blogger, who was murdered less than 24 hours ago.

Rajib was an active participant of the Shahbagh protests.

Prime Minister went to Rajib’s house in Palashnagar at 3:45pm. She was accompanied by local Members of Parliament Illias Uddin Molla and Aslamul Haque.

Family, friends and relatives are blaming the Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami for the killing.

Earlier in the day, Home Minister MK Alamgir also visited Rajib’s house and assured of quick action for arrest of the killers.

Rajib was killed due to hacking and slitting of his throat, police said.
MP Illias Molla has also blamed the Jamaat-e-Islami and its student affiliate Islami Chhatra Shibir for the murder.
Rajib’s father Dr Nazim Uddin has said, “I had fought the Liberation War. Country is now free, but not from Razakars … that is why I had to lose my son.”
