Madaripur, Nov 23 (bdnews24.com) – The road communication between Dhaka and Barisal snapped on Friday as a bridge collapsed at Madaripur's Ghotokchar Moring in the morning creating a severe gridlock of vehicles.
The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) has advised the travellers to use the Pachhar-Shibchar-Kazirtek road to reach their destinations.
RHD Executive Engineer Mohammad Habib Ullah told bdnews24.com a part of the bridge collapsed around 11.30am following excessive weight of vehicles.
He said the repair of the bridge would take some time and requested all to use the other road as the alternative route.
He said the repair work could start after 2pm.
