Narsingdi capsize toll reaches 8

Narsingdi, Mar 12 (bdnews24.com) – The death toll from Friday night's trawler capsize in the Meghna river in Sadar upazila has stood at eight with the recovery of three more bodies.
Officials said fire brigade divers recovered the bodies early on Saturday with the help of local people.
The deceased are Hasan Miah, 50, his wife Setara Begum, 45, grandchild Barsha, 12, of Nabipur village, Mokhter Hossain, 40, Aleya Begum, 35, and Selim Miah, 12, of Dilarpur village, Faruk, 25, of Chhagariapara village and Abul Hossain of Jamalia Kandir village of the upazila.
Sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station Nasir Ahmed said fire brigade divers from Dhaka also joined them earlier in the morning.
The trawler, carrying at least 40 passengers, sank in the river near Sriagar at about 7:00pm on Friday.
Police with the help of local people recovered five bodies, including three of the same family, on Friday night.
Deputy commissioner of the district Amrito Baroi said police handed over the bodies to their relatives.
