Jessore, Dec 15 (bdnews24.com) – A mobile court in Jessore has seized a huge quantity of adulterated fertiliser from a factory in Jessore. The value of the seized fertilizer is estimated at Tk. 650,000.
Acting on a tipo-off, Sadar Upazila executive officer (UNO) Rezaul Karim led the drive at Muktesshori Fertiliser factory in Krishnabati village in the early hours of Tuesday.
A total of 700 sacks of adulterated triple super phosphate (TSP) and zinc fertilisers were seized in the drive, deputy director of the district's agricultural extension department Biplob Kumar Saha told reporters.
The factory has been sealed off and the owner has gone into hiding, he added.
Saha claimed that they had seized huge amount of adulterated fertilisers from the factory twice before. There are already a number of cases against the owner, Gausul Azam, in this connection.
