Mob kills four 'dacoits'

Four 'robbers' were killed in Gazipur on Sunday when local people attacked a gang of 12 men claiming that they were on their way back from a robbery.

Gazipur, July 18 (bdnews24.com) – Four 'robbers' were killed in Gazipur on Sunday when local people attacked a gang of 12 men claiming that they were on their way back from a robbery.
The other eight were injured in the attack and have been admitted to Gazipur Sadar Hospital.
The police say that the incident occurred at around 6am at Enayetpur village in Kahsimpur Union of the Sadar Upazila.
Three of the deceased have been identified as Nur Uddin, 30, Kamal Hossain, 25, and 'Abdullah', 30. The identities of the fourth man killed, and the injured, are not yet known.
Syed Azharul Islam, sub-inspector of Joydebpur police's Chakrabarti camp, told bdnews24.com: "A 12-member dacoit gang was on their way home after committing a robbery in the Gachhbari area of Kaliakar Upazila."
"Members of the public pounced on them when they reached Enayetpur village. Two of them died on the spot from the beating. Two others died at the Sadar Hospital where the injured were taken," he added.
Islam also said that a gun, a large amount of gold jewellery and around Tk 20,000 in cash was recovered from the dacoit gang when they were attacked.
