JP leader, family killed in Rajshahi crash

Former vice president of Jatiya Party's central committee Abdul Hannan and family members were killed in a road accident in Rajshahi Sunday morning, police said.

Rajshahi, Sept 28 (bdnews24.com)—Former vice president of Jatiya Party's central committee Abdul Hannan and family members were killed in a road accident in Rajshahi Sunday morning, police said.
Sixty year-old Hannan, elder daughter Ruma (42), nine-year-old grandson Noman and driver Ayub were killed on the spot.
Puthia police officer in charge Jasim Uddin said the accident occurred at Kanthalbaria on the Rajshahi-Natore highway at around 7.30 am.
Hannan, two daughters and two grandsons were travelling from Chapainawabganj to Dhaka, when their jeep collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction.
Hannan's younger daughter Suma and her son Nafiz, injured in the accident, were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Jasim said the bodies of the deceased were sent to the same hospital for autopsy.
Police seized the truck but the driver managed to flee.
