Train-truck collision kills three in Mymensingh

Three people died and 10 others were injured after a train rammed into a truck at a level crossing in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh Sunday, police said.

Mymensingh, April 6 (bdnews24.com)—Three people died and 10 others were injured after a train rammed into a truck at a level crossing in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh Sunday, police said.
Gafargaon police chief Amzad Hossain told bdnews24.com the accident occurred in an area called Maijhati around 9:00am when the Dhaka-bound train coming from Jamalpur collided with the truck.
The accident wrecked part of the truck.
The dead were travelling on the truck. Two of them were identified: Mintu, 38, and Atikul, 35—both from Balipara village of Trishal upazila in the same district.
Train driver Nasir Chan, fireman Farizur Rahman, ticket examiner Tazul Islam and truckers Emran and Harez, who were among the injured, were given first-aid at Gafargaon hospital.
Train movement remained suspended on the Dhaka-Bahadurabad route until 10:45am.
Gafargaon UNO Mahbub Hossain visited the accident site.
Railway officials of Dhaka and Mymensingh headed to the scene to investigate the accident.
