Dhaka, Feb 17 (BDNEWS)- The Department of Roads and Highways authorities have allegedly been pocketing huge money from the government coffer in the name of master roll employees.
It was learnt that the Finance Ministry issued an order on the R & H authorities not to draw the salaries in the name of master roll employees.
The R & H Department, however, has not carried out the order of the ministry over the past three months, a competent source from inside the department said.
An official order signed by senior assistant secretary of the Finance Ministry asked the authorities not to pay the salaries to master roll employees after May of 1988.
The same official order also asked the R & H Department to inform the Finance Ministry through the Establishment Ministry about the regularisation of jobs of employees before Jun 30.
The sources further said that this order of the Finance Ministry had also not been carried out.
Still salaries in the name of over 100 master-role employees are being drawn in Dhaka and the number across the country is several thousand.
