Bandarban, Oct 21 (BDNEWS) – Arms and ammunition have been recovered again from a remote hill of Naikkhangchhari in Bandarban Friday morning.
BDR members recovered two 303 rifles, 2500 rounds of bullet and 40 magazines of AK-47 rifle digging earth at Harinjhiri hill of Naikkhangchhari.
BDR sources said on a tip-off, three teams led by Lt. Col. Abdul Awal, Lt. Mahabub and Habildar Deen Mohammad recovered the arms and ammunition from Harinjhiri hill after an 11-hour-long operation.
Bomb-making materials were also retrieved from the hill. They suspect that more arms and ammunition might be recovered from the area. But nobody could be arrested in this connection.
Twenty AK-47 rifles, eight SMGs, four LMGs, 32 pistols and 20 thousand rounds of bullet were recovered from the hills under Naikkhangchhari upazila carrying out operations for several times.
