Three dacoits killed in mass beating (Update)

Three alleged dacoits were killed and three of their aides sustained injuries in mob beating in Brahmanbaria and Chittagong districts Tuesday.

Dhaka, October 11 (BDNEWS) – Three alleged dacoits were killed and three of their aides sustained injuries in mob beating in Brahmanbaria and Chittagong districts Tuesday.
Of them two were lynched in Brahmanbaria while another in Chittagong.
During the melee eight locals were also injured while chasing and beating the bandits.
BDNEWS Brahmanbaria correspondent reports: angry mob lynched two robbers at Chargash Bazar area under Kashba upazila when the criminals, numbering 20 to 25, were decamping with booty after looting a bank and other private business establishment.
"The goons stormed local Krishi Bank, two jewellery shops and some other adjacent shops and looted TK 79,000 and gold ornaments," police and businessmen alleged.
In response, the locals chased the goons and caught three of them and beat them up mercilessly killing two on the spot. Another seriously injured dacoit was admitted to the local hospital.
The locals recovered a gun and three bullets from the dacoits and handed those over to police.
The identity of the dacoits could not be known immediately.
BDNEWS Chittagong correspondent adds: angry mob lynched one bandit and wounded two others at Satkania upazila.
Police recovered 37 bullets from the possession of the arrested bandits.
According to police and locals, nearly two hundred villagers 'gheraoed' about 15 robbers who were reportedly planning to commit robbery at village South Dhemsha Napiter Char.
The villagers caught three of the robbers and beat them up mercilessly.
Abdul Majid, an alleged robber, died on the spot. The other robbers managed to flee away.
Later two other robbers Kabir Ahmed and Jalalddin were handed over to police.
Police recovered 19 bullets from their possessions.
Separate cases were filed with the respective police stations.
