Three suspected militants arrested

Police arrested two Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) members from Joypurhat Saturday night and one Khelafat Majlish member from Manikganj Sunday morning suspecting them to be involved in the August 17 bomb blasts.

Dhaka, Sept 18 (BDNEWS) – Police arrested two Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) members from Joypurhat Saturday night and one Khelafat Majlish member from Manikganj Sunday morning suspecting them to be involved in the August 17 bomb blasts.
BDNEWS Joypurhat correspondent reports: police Saturday night arrested Idris Ali Mondal, 55 and his son Abdul Jabbar, 35 from Jamalganj under Akkelpur upazila.
When asked if those two are adherents of Dr Galib or involved in the serial bomb blasts Akkelpur thana OC said, they are being quizzed. He also declined to give details in the interest of the interrogation.
With these two the number of arrestees suspected for their links to the countrywide bomb explosions on August 17 has risen to 29 in the district.
BDNEWS Manikganj correspondent reports: Manikganj Sadar thana police arrested Khelafat Majlish organising secretary and a madrasa teacher Abdul Baten, 44 on Sunday morning suspecting him to be involved in the serial bomb blasts.
He was arrested from Palra Bazar at 8 am and he is now being interrogated, sources said.
