BSF releases two Bangladeshi farmers

The two Bangladeshi farmers who were abducted by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Sholmari border of Meherpur were released Sunday.

Meherpur, May 8 (BDNEWS) – The two Bangladeshi farmers who were abducted by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Sholmari border of Meherpur were released Sunday.
Local sources said that members of BSF abducted farmer Rubel Hossain and Habu alias Jurmat Ali Saturday making them hostage at gunpoint from Kalitala field when they went there to collect wood from their own lands.
The incident created tension among the villagers of both sides of the border.
BSF released them after a flag meeting between BDR and BSF at company level on Sunday morning.
It was also alleged that the farmers were physically tortured.
