Dhaka’s Ambassador in Kyrgyzstan, with residence in Uzbekistan, Mosud Mannan conveyed this to Bishkek’s culture minister Maksutov Altynbell Askarovich during a meeting recently.

Mannan visited Bishkek as part of Bangladesh’s Independence Day celebration for the first time in the capital.

Bangladesh’s Honorary Consul in Bishkek Temirbek Erkinov hosted a reception at the hotel on Mar 31, the foreign ministry said on Friday.

Top Kyrgyz officials, think-tanks, members of the diplomatic corps, and academia attended the reception.

Later, the ambassador had a meeting with the culture minister when he informed him about Dhaka’s plan to organise a painting exhibition.

He said famous Bangladeshi painters would come to Kyrgyzstan to promote Bangladesh’s rich culture.

The minister was “very happy” to know that and promised their “best support to make it possible for the first time in Bishkek”.
