'Anandapath', bdnews24.com's art, literature and entertainment publication has hit the stands ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and its eighth founding anniversary.

From Saturday the publication is available across the country at 'Pathak Shamabesh' and other renowned book stores, says poet Muhammad Nurul Huda, the editor of Anandapath.

bdnews24.com began as a news agency in 2004, but in 2006, after new management took over, it morphed into nation's first online newspaper on October 23 that year.

This nearly five hundred-page compilation contains write-ups of over 150 renowned personalities, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, author and researcher Mohammad Takiullah, cultural personality Sanajida Khatun and journalist and author late Baby Maudud.

It also contains a collection of 66 poems from several generations of poets starting from the '50s. Among them are Syed Shamsul Haq, Al Mahmud, Asad Chowdhury, Moniruzzaman, Rafiq Azad, Hayat Saif, Rabiul Hussain and Nirmalenda Goon.

Anandapath is also featuring nine complete novels, including two translated versions. Imatiyar Shamim, Talukdar Zakir, Manish Roy, Hamid Raihan, Rashid Mehedi and Masood Anwar have penned new novels for the publication.

Ali Ahmad has translated Argentine author Esteban Echeverria's classic 'El Matadero'. Binay Barman's translation of Mariano Azuela's Los De Abajo has also been included.

The publication also comprises 16 short stories from writers from both Bangladesh and West Bengal, 11 translated stories, four interviews and two articles.

Anandapath also contains two unpublished pieces from the late Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman and former student leader late Khandker Muhammad Farooq.

Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, Anisuzzaman and Sirajul Islam have written on the Eid.

Anandapath is also featuring three travelogues, including one written by Shakur Majid and a science and technology section with five articles. There is also a special section titled "free prose".

The cover of this publication has been designed by Dhruba Esh and illustrations have been done by Sadek.

Printed on white offset paper, Anandapath is priced at Tk 1,000.
